Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Bwindi Forest
The trip starts with a pick up from Kigali International airport or your hotel in Kigali and a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Your professional driver guide will pick you up and transfer you to the respective border (Cyanika or Katuna) for immigration and cross over to Uganda driving to Bwindi Forest. The drive time from Kigali to Bwindi is roughly 5 hours. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is a premier destination for gorilla safaris being home to the highest population (half of the total population) in the whole world. Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Departure
The great day for trekking gorillas is finally here! Wakeup very early, enjoy a delicious heavy breakfast, get your packed lunch and transfer to the respective park head quarters for registration. You will also be briefed on the dos and don’ts of mountain gorilla trekking, what to expect and the general guidelines. You will be put in a group of eight travelers and allocated a gorilla family to trek. Gorilla trekking starts at 8:00am and may be as short as 30 minutes to several hours depending on gorilla movements and location. After a long hike, you will finally meet the gentle giants, breath in, keep a distance and enjoy this lifetime experience. Enjoy how a silver back gorilla guards and watches over all family members, see how adult females nurse babies while the juveniles play continuously to entertain the family. The human like characters of mountain gorillas in their family make them close relatives to man. Spend an hour with gorillas, while juveniles and black backs play around to keep the family Lively. Take pictures and have fun with these great apes. You may also meet other wild animals mainly colubus monkeys and numerous bird species, which live in Bwindi Forest. Thereafter, descend, pick your trekking permit and with your driver guide transfer back to Kigali
