Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara
You will transfer from Nairobi to Masai Mara wildlife reserve through the beautiful countryside as you approach Masai Mara. This reserve is widely known for sheltering the big 5 and several other wildlife species like zebras, elands, warthogs, buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, hyenas, and several bird species among others. you will arrive in the afternoon, have lunch and dine at the lodge before heading out for an evening game drive. Be sure to catch up with your favorite game. You will then return to the lodge later to rest, have dinner, and overnight there.
Day 2: Full day Masai Mara experience
After the morning breakfast at the lodge, you will set off for a full-day excursion to the Masai Mara wildlife reserve. Depending on what you prefer, you will leave with your lunch packed to spare some time that would have been spent returning to have lunch. The morning game drive into this park will give you an encounter with the big hunting cats and other predators like hyenas as they devour the weak animals. you will have a lunch break and then launch the afternoon game drive through your preferred choice of game to watch. On a good season, you will enjoy the annual migration of the wildebeests and other games as they cross River Mara. You will later return to the lodge to reflect on the day’s activities. Dinner and overnight night here.
Day 3: Transfer from Masai Mara to Nairobi and to Uganda
You will start your morning with breakfast and have an en-route game drive as you depart Masai Mara. You will have a chance to catch up with those animals you might want to see again before you leave Kenya. Proceed to Nairobi and catch your flight to Entebbe international airport in Uganda where you will immediately board another flight to Bwindi National Park. Our local guide will be on standby at the airfield near Bwindi National Park to transfer you to the Hotel in the park. The fresh breath of this impenetrable forest will give you a fresh start for your time in the pearl of Africa. Don’t be shocked when a gorilla knocks on your window to say ‘hello’ in some of the Hotels. You will enjoy the evening traditional performances from the local troupe, Dinner, and overnight at the lodge.
Day 4: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi NP & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
The day starts with a tasty meal at the hotel/lodge and then transfer to the park headquarters to meet other guests where you will be briefed as a team on the guidelines of Gorilla tracking. The tracking will soon begin hiking through the high mountains in search of the forest giants the gorillas. After hours of tracking, you will find the gorillas feeding and sometimes resting, the young ones are seen playing most of the time while the females are seen taking care of their kids. The dominant male is always on the guard to keep the family safe from any intruders. The Gorillas are habituated and there’s no need for you to worry about getting attacked by an angry gorilla if you follow the simple guidelines. You will then return later after a full-hour encounter with the Gorillas and transfer to the lodge to have some rest. If time allows, you will have a community tour to interact with the locals to see the African lifestyle as you transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 5: Lake Bunyonyi & Transfer to Entebbe
Lake Bunyonyi is one of Africa’s deepest lakes located in the southwest of Uganda just close to Bwindi National Park. after breakfast, you will enjoy an early morning canoeing on a boat to explore this small but interesting lake with 29 islands. Lake Bunyonyi is a perfect place for relaxation on this crocodile-free swimmable waterbody. After the morning relaxation, you will transfer to the airfield in Kanungu to return to Entebbe.
