Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Congo
In the early morning, your driver guide from African Apes Holidays will pick you up from Kigali International Airport or your hotel in Kigali Rwanda. He/she will briefly introduce you to the itinerary and take you on a city tour through the beautiful and clean Kigali city. You will briefly visit some travel destinations in the city center such as the kimironko market and the Kigali genocide memorial center. Thereafter, you will drive to Goma border and cross over to Congo connecting to Virunga National Park for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking
The great day for trekking mountains gorillas is finally here! Yo9u will rise up very early, have a heavy morning breakfast, and with your packed lunch transfer to the park headquarters for registration and pre-gorilla trekking briefing. You will be put together in groups of eight and allocated a gorilla family to visit. The trek to see gorillas start at 8:00 am lasting between 2 to over 6 hours depending on the location of gorillas and their speed of movement. After meeting the gorillas, you are allowed to spend an hour in their presence. Take as many photos as you wish and enjoy the company of your lost relatives. Trekking gorillas in Virunga National Park is an off-beaten kind of experience given the fewer registered visits compared to other gorilla parks in Uganda and Rwanda.
Day 3: Departure
Today morning, have a sunrise breakfast at your lodge, check out and transfer to Kigali for your connecting flight. You may do an optional Kigali city tour as you head to the airport
