Day 1: Pick up, Kigali city tour & transfer to Nyungwe Forest
Your driver guide from African Apes Tours & Travel will pick you from Kigali International airport or your hotel in Kigali; have a brief tour in Kigali city to explore the beauty of this small clean city. You may visit some top travel destinations in Kigali such as the Kigali genocide memorial center, Kigali Convention Centre, and local markets among others. In the afternoon, drive south-westwards to Nyungwe Forest National park, home for the endangered chimpanzees.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking & Canopy walk
This day starts with a morning breakfast and a transfer to Cyamudongo visitor information center where registration and briefing take place. Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest can be done in either the main forest or in Cyamudongo forest depending on the traveler’s choice. Spend an hour with a chimpanzee community, and have fun with lost relatives. In the afternoon, join a 2 hours canopy walk above the forest, which offers you great views of the jungle and spectacular views of the Virunga volcanoes and neighboring communities.
Day 3: Departure
Have a relaxed morning breakfast at the lodge; enjoy the sunrise as the fog clears off the jungles of Nyungwe Forest National Park. Thereafter, transfer to Kigali for your catch-up flight
