African Apes Tours & Travel is a specialized gorilla safari company offering tailor-made gorilla trekking tours to Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. How we arrange our trips
All travel itineraries by African Apes Tours are tailor-made to suit clients’ time, budgets, and travel interests. After contacting us, our reservation team works hand in hand with a client to make the exact itinerary that he/she wants. Whether you have a short time like a 1 Day gorilla trek, African Apes Tours has the best for you. Alternatively, our travel packages cover long safaris up to 20 Days of African safari which covers up Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Booking Terms and Conditions
Every client who confirms a safari with African Apes Tours MUST first read and understand our booking terms and conditions. Confirming a safari with us means that you agree to our terms and conditions. In case the travel cancels a trip a short time to the set date, he/she will not get a refund. However, if a traveler cancels a month before the visiting date, he/she can be given some refund where need be. At times when a trip is canceled due to natural calamities, civil wars, and epidemics, a company is not responsible for any losses incurred. If a traveler cancels a trip due to any of the reasons out of our control, African Apes Tours & Travel will not be entitled to giving him/her a refund.
Our Refund Policy
Any client who cancels a safari 100 days to the set date is entitled to a 50% refund
• 61-100 days to the set date calls for a 40% refund
• 45-60 days’ calls for a 30% refund
• 15-40 Days call for a 20% refund
• 0-15 Days call for no refund
Cancellation policy on gorilla permits
There is no refund on gorilla permits! A traveler who cancels even after paying the full cost of a gorilla permit will lose both the money and the permit. Avoid unnecessary gorilla permit cancellations to avoid losses. However, you can reschedule a gorilla permit to your desired future date. Uganda Wildlife Authority(UWA) and Rwanda Development Board (RDB) allow gorilla permit rescheduling at a mall cost.

African Apes Tours & Travel offers detailed and accurate information to all our esteemed clients. All the details we give about gorilla families, permit costs and the flow of itineraries can be changed anytime where there is a need. African Apes Tours & Travel is a fully registered member of tourism organizations in Uganda and Rwanda. We are members of the Association of Uganda Tour Operators (AUTO) which joins all travel operators in Uganda and other conservation bodies such as the Uganda Tourism Board, Uganda Tourism Association, and Uganda Wildlife Authority. We all work hand in hand with Rwanda Development Board to ensure peaceful and successful Rwanda safaris.

Hotel/Accommodation Bookings
We help you book hotels and lodges making it easier for our clients. African Apes Tours works together with the best lodges in Uganda, Rwanda, Congo, Kenya, and Tanzania. Interestingly, we have special offers for travel operators which makes your hotel room rates a little cheaper if you book through us.
What we include in our tour costings
Our costings differ depending on the travel activities, the lodges selected and the number of people on the safari. Tour inclusions are gorilla permits, chimpanzee permits, accommodation, meals, bottled drinking water, full-time driver-guide, conservation fees, miscellaneous, park entrance fees, and all travel activities included in the itinerary. The exclusions in our safari costings are alcoholic beverages, personal expenses, extra activities, and tips
Lost Baggage
If a traveler loses his/her baggage on a plane, African Apes Tours & Travel is not responsible. However, if a traveler’s baggage gets lost from either a hotel or Lodge, African Apes Tours makes sure the baggage is recovered.
When to Pay
We require a 40% deposit upon your bookings! This is to help us book your hotel rooms, gorilla permits, chimpanzee permits and it is also a sign of seriousness by a client. Full payment is required at least a week before your arrival time. However, you can as well bring the balance and clear on the first day of the trip
